We Teach LAMDA

We are extremely pleased to be able to offer the LAMDA Exam courses at the Queen Mother Theatre.

There are lots of reasons to take a LAMDA Exam. The one we hear about most often from our learners is confidence. By developing their communication skills our learners are improving their levels of self-assurance, confident in the knowledge that they can articulate their thoughts and ideas, and importantly make their voice heard.

Other benefits include reading fluency, a broader vocabulary, enhanced memory and recall, improved English language skills and the ability to structure an argument.

Preparing for a LAMDA Exam helps everyone develop the life skills that are so important for a happy, successful and fulfilled life.

Once you have passed a LAMDA Exam, you will have earnt a qualification that is recognised all over the world that you can use to add to your CV, or university application. You can even earn UCAS points to help with university entry with Grades 6 to 8.  Grade 4/5 is equivalent to a GCSE.

• We are offering one-to-one lessons once a week (term time only) to work towards a LAMDA exam from Grades 1 to 8 in Acting.
• One hour lesson per week £50
• 30 mins lesson per week £25
• (siblings can share a one hour lesson at the same cost).
• There is a 10% discount for booking 10 lessons in advance.
• Exams cost start at £55 and range up to £108 for Grade 8.

This year we have had our exams in March and we are now working towards our next set of exams hopefully in November/December 2025.

This year all our students passed with a “Distinction, the highest grade achievable.

The Queen Mother Theatre is a LAMDA centre so the students can take their exams at the theatre where the lessons are also held.  No need to travel to a public centre.
