How you can help
The Bancroft Players and the running of The Queen Mother Theatre are primarily managed by a dedicated team of members and volunteers. Since it started in 1945 and especially since the theatre was built and opened in 1983 the need for active volunteers to help in many areas of the theatre has increased.
We are currently looking for a number of key roles to help with the running of vital parts of the theatre and we hope you will be able to help.

Marketing and Publicity Manager
A QMT marketing and publicity manager you look after marketing and promoting the QMT theatre’s activities and Bancroft Player Shows. This includes engaging with our loyal and existing audiences as well as developing new ones. This is a great role for someone with a great amount of creative energy and good communication skill, especially digital or indeed for a team of people to develop to take on various parts of the QMT communications and promotion.
Head of Wardrobe
The QMT has a vast wardrobe department and needs to furnish at least 10 productions every season in everything from a plain white shirt to a full Elizabethan gown (and all the trimmings!) – we’re looking for someone to take the reigns of this department, help directors as part of the creative direction and develop a team to run this vital part of our productions. A great knowledge of clothing from all ages is a bonus.
Additional Support
We are also looking for additional volunteers in all areas to grow our teams. Get creative in the costume department, the set design and build team, and prop making. Be close to the action backstage or make a positive difference in the FoH, Stewarding, bar or coffee shop.

If you are interested in getting involved at The QMT and joining the Bancroft Players please come along to one of our ‘New Members Open Evenings’. There you will be given a tour of the Theatre and have a chance to chat about the different areas that you can be involved with.
