Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare

Directed by Steve Thompson

Performances dates: 9th – 14th March 2026

‘Titus’ is a play about two warring tribes: Romans and Goths. It’s brutal but it’s thrilling – an edge-of-your-seat revenge drama. This production will be updated to contemporary Britain – a blood-feud between two rival gangs. (One benefit of updating the show is that many of the leading roles can be played by either men or women.)

THE STORY: Titus returns from the war with the Tamora, the Queen of the Goths, and her children as his captives. Tamora’s eldest child is murdered by Titus’ sons as a sacrifice for the soldiers they have lost. The distraught Queen vows revenge on the whole family of Andronicus. Tamora’s two remaining sons, Chiron and Demetrius, avenge their mother by raping and mutilating Titus’ daughter, Lavinia. When Titus discovers he achieves his revenge in a spectacularly twisted fashion…
